Restaurant
Our Story

Welcome to Os' Camacheiros a family run restaurant bringing newer taste of the beautiful Island of Madeira (Mostly known for Madeira cake, Madeira wine and Cristiano Ronaldo) Run by Mother and Son, both with plenty experience. The journey to Camacheiros started many years ago when Fatima (Mother) opened her first restaurant O’Picado in Westcliff on-sea. After many years of hard work and dedication it was time to open a sister restaurant called Skewer House in Rochford with her son (Hugo) who now owns and runs that restaurant . That then led to opening another sister restaurant Skewer House Taunton with the other son (Diogo). Diogo and his partner now own and run Skewer House Taunton and have opened another restaurant in Taunton with Portuguese and Spanish Tapas called Nobrega’s which is run by the sister (Sofia).
Looking for our next venture as Mother and Son (Fatima and Hugo) we found this beautiful building in this wonderful historic Village of Lower Upnor and fell in love. We’ve decided to bring the combined taste of both Fatima and Hugo’s restaurant to the Village.
When thinking of a name for the new restaurant we decided on Os' Camacheiros after Fatima’s parents Rosaria and Antonio who were a huge influence of hard work and dedication to achieve what you want in life which has had a lot of impact on Fatima’s success.

They were an amazing part of all our lives and Fatima learnt a lot of her cooking from her mum which she has passed down to all her children.

And the rest is history!
